Traditionally, Photographers ‘Own’ YOUR Photos
We have never believed that YOUR photos, that YOU paid for, should be owned by anybody else, but you. YOU paid for them!
Photographers have always believed they owned the rights to any work they produce, which is fine if they took the photos on their own time, in any capacity other than being employed / contracted to do so.
Taken By Drone.com does store copies of YOUR photos, just in case you need another set. You may have lost stored data on your computer, or an agent might have played hard-ball with you and deemed that THEY own the photos. We make it quite clear that the one paying for the work, owns it.
We do store our clients photos, and if we are called upon to provide another set, we can, but do charge a storage / admin fee of $49.95. We believe this is a fair price, regardless of the number of photos requested – storage costs money, so does our time.
This is why we don’t ‘promote’ or ‘advertise’ photos that we don’t own. Any photo you see on our website, or anywhere else in connection with Taken By Drone.com, is either work we completed on our own time, or they may be Stock Images, from Unsplash – we’ve always sought stock images from them.
“Your Commercial Photography should be owned by one person, and that person is you, you paid for it.”
